OUR PARTICIPANTS

As a member Group of RDA we welcome children and adults who have a disability to our centre in South Buckinghamshire.

As a purpose-built centre, we provide riding and horse-based activities throughout the year. Riders can join groups or have private tuition. Our facilities include a 20 x 40 indoor arena and 20 x 60 outdoor arena.  We also have a classroom for lessons on horse management.

Individual  lessons for riders  during the week are arranged and special events, such as grooming sessions and own a pony morning, take place during school holidays. These are posted on our Facebook page – South Bucks RDA

All riders are assessed before joining the group so that we can determine the best horse or pony for them and the best lesson format.

As well as lessons, our participants can progress to competition level if they desire and we regularly attend competitions both at the centre and around the country.

‘I have ridden for some years but wanted to work with a coach that could understand my dystonia in a way that could improve my riding and take it to another level.  I have found Theresa incredibly inspiring.  She knows how to push me and has encouraged me to achieve things I didn’t feel were possible.  Since starting at RDA I have made new friends (equine and human!) and it has given me a confidence I don’t feel elsewhere.  It has become a very important part of my life and I’m incredibly grateful to all the staff who work so tirelessly to make this possible.’

If you would like to ride or are interested in enjoying our horses please get in touch.

All of our volunteers are encouraged to undertake safeguarding training, if you are concerned about a participant or volunteer you will find safeguarding information here  Safeguarding
