Volunteering

Volunteering with South Bucks RDA

We rely on volunteers to support the very small number of staff that we have to deliver riding to disabled children and adults, as well as care for our equines and look after the estate or help out with Administration or fundraising.

What sort of things do volunteers do?
As a volunteer you can help to get the horses ready for riding; by catching them in from the field, grooming and tacking them up.IMG_0476

You can help in a ride; leading the ponies around helping the riders steer or walk along side the riders helping them to develop skills and independence.

You can help clean the tack or muck out, you may even help keep the pastures clean by ‘poo picking’, clearing nettles and ragwort as well as other poisonous plants that appear.

You can help to mend fences, sheds or have a go at clearing the ditches and paths through the woods that the riders hack in.
