End of Summer Have A Go Show

The date for the 2026 ‘Have a go Show’ social show … Is confirmed as Sunday 13th September.
Ridden classes will be £4 each and each rider can participate in up to ridden two classes (space dependent). In order to enter please email Lizzie.Ragg@southbucksrda.org with your rider’s name and chosen classes. Entries will close on 31.8.2026.
Flat Showjumping
RDA flat showjumping is a gentle, confidence‑building introduction to jumping where the focus is not on height or speed, but on control, balance and accuracy. It takes place on the flat , using poles on the ground arranged like a small jumping course.. Riders follow a clear route and are tested on their steering, rhythm, and balanced position.
Country Side Challenge
A firm RDA favourite! Country Side requires the rider to guide their horse or pony around a course of practical obstacles. It is designed to resemble situations that they might encounter while riding in the countryside. Each obstacle has a purpose and tests skills such as balance, accuracy, control, safety, technical knowledge, and partnership with the horse. Riders are judged on how calmly, safely, and accurately they complete each task.
Dressage
“Pick Your Own” dressage test is a friendly, flexible way for riders to compete by choosing (with their coach) the test that suits them best. Instead of everyone riding the same test, each rider selects a test from the official RDA list at their level. This makes competitions more accessible, more enjoyable, and more personalised for every rider. Whilst riders will be riding different tests they will be scored on position, accuracy and paces.
And now something a little different……
Stable Management Obstacle Course (None Ridden class which is enter on the day and is free of charge)
This is open to all family members and not just participants or volunteers! A fun activity where you can ‘Have a go’ at experiencing what it’s like to be an RDA groom on a busy day. Can you speed around this horse care course completing all elements whilst against the clock… ?
South Bucks RDA Quiz Trail! (None Ridden class which is enter on the day and is free of charge)
How well do you know all the key landmarks of the South RDA yard? South Bucks RDA Quiz Trail is a friendly, accessible outdoor activity where participants, families, and supporters can walk together from landmark to landmark, answer simple horse‑themed questions, and collect stickers along the way.
