Seven riders from Coteford Junior School enjoyed a Picnic Ride on the last day of their riding Term. They hacked through the woods to the picnic site where they dismounted and ate their lunch in the safety of a specially prepared area.
Meanwhile, the large number of Volunteers required for such an event were able to enjoy their own picnic lunch and glass of chilled Elderflower. We are very grateful to all the volunteers who gave up their time to help and make this event possible.
As a surprise, one of the parents had baked some very elegant cakes for everyone.
Also attending the picnic was Natasha Baker, who is a multi-medal winning Paralympian and former pupil of Coteford. The children loved meeting her and having the opportunity to both see and hold one of her Gold Medals. It was a fitting end to a successful year of riding and educational activities associated with their riding. It is sad that Coteford will not be returning to ride in September and Sarah Hutchinson, who has been bringing children to South Bucks for the last 21 years, has made the decision to retire at the end of this Term.
